About Susan

What's new for Susan Groeschel Lovelette, soprano?
She's starting a new journey - musically, spiritually and literally - by going back on the road to share:

  • 40 years' experience in musical theater, opera, concert performance and devotion programming
  • a mature and vibrant bel canto soprano
  • a love of singing well-known and rarely-heard classical repertoire as well as popular song with a classical flair
  • an uncommon experience of hearing classical vocal music live; and
  • her hope to reveal the love of God through the beauty of music

Why this new adventure now?

  • To answer God's calls:
    • To sing: Praying what to do next with her voice, a friend approached and asked, "When are you going to sing me an Ave?"
    • To pray: Asking a Diocesan Director of Worship why he wanted her to sing for an ordination and to teach cantors, he replied "because you know how to pray when you sing."
    • To trust: Contemplating scripture reflections in a retreat garden, a kind voice asked, "Are you done?" (struggling, trying to do this on your own?) After a half hour of heart-to-heart laughter, "Yes!"
    •  To serve:
  • To love others by helping as many people as possible encounter Christ in song. (Regnum Christi #166)
  • Because she can travel again - far and wide!

How is she related to the late Fr. Benedict J. Groeschel C.F.R.?
